Procession advice: Traffic can queue on the A1307 at weekday peak hours. Our funeral directors plan alternative routes via Madingley Road or the A428 to keep the cortege flowing smoothly.

How We Support Families Here

Chapel selection advice – We help you decide whether the West or East Chapel suits guest numbers and service style, advising on overflow screens or split services when needed.

Arrival & seating assurance – Reserved pews for close family and priority parking bays mean loved ones settle quickly, while ushers guide other guests to seats or standing areas.

Media peace of mind – A Regency technician uploads tribute videos, tests the webcast link and checks sound levels 45 minutes before the service, ensuring flawless playback.

Personal touches – From eco‑friendly willow coffins to horse‑drawn hearses along the woodland drive, we liaise with chapel staff to honour every detail.

Aftercare & memorials – Our After a Loss Hub guides families through ashes collection, woodland scattering permits and memorial plaque choices.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How far in advance can we book a service at Cambridge City Crematorium?

The diary opens 12 months ahead, allowing plenty of choice for morning or afternoon slots. For urgent arrangements, we can usually confirm a time within 48 hours once statutory forms are complete.

  • Can we use both chapels on the same day?

Yes. Many families hold a private farewell in the East Chapel followed by a public celebration in the West Chapel. We coordinate timing and floral transfers so both ceremonies flow smoothly.

  • What length of service slot is standard?

Each chapel operates a 45 minute booking. Families wanting extended readings, live music or multiple eulogies can double book for a 90 minute celebration of life.

  • Is livestreaming available in both chapels?

Yes. The Obitus system streams in HD from each chapel, with separate links and passwords if you use both spaces on the same day. Recordings remain online for 28 days.

  • Is the crematorium child friendly?

Absolutely. Pushchairs navigate flat thresholds easily, and the waiting lounge offers space for short breaks. We provide colouring packs or memory box activities to help children engage gently with the ceremony.

  • Can we hold an eco friendly or woodland burial after cremation?

Yes. Ashes may be scattered in the Woodland Garden or interred in adjacent woodland burial plots. We supply biodegradable urns and liaise with the council for plot permits.

  • How is parking handled for very large funerals?

The main car park accommodates 100 vehicles. When attendance is expected to exceed this, the overflow field opens and marshals guide traffic. Coach drop off is available at the West Chapel entrance.

  • What floral and multimedia options are available?

Loose stems can be placed on the coffin; larger arrangements line the aisle or rest on outside trestles. Photo slideshows and favourite songs run on loop as mourners arrive.

  • When are ashes ready for collection?

Ashes are usually available within 48 hours. You may collect personally, request Regency hand delivery or ask us to hold them until a later scattering ceremony.

  • What ongoing support does Regency offer after the funeral?

We continue to help with paperwork, probate guidance, memorial choices and grief support resources. Monthly coffee mornings at our funeral home create a supportive community for families to share memories.
