Location & Travel Tips

Fenland Crematorium sits on Knights End Road (B1101), a short drive from the A141 March Bypass. It’s roughly 20 minutes from Wisbech, 30 minutes from Peterborough and 45 minutes from Cambridge.

Public transport: The March railway station (Greater Anglia and CrossCountry lines) is two miles away; taxis take around five minutes. Stagecoach bus route 33 stops on Cavalry Drive, a flat ten‑minute walk to the chapel entrance.

Procession advice: Farm‑traffic queues can build on the B1101 during harvest. Our funeral directors plan alternative routes via the A141 and Burrowmoor Road to keep the cortege moving smoothly.

How We Support Families Here

Arrival & seating assurance – We reserve ground‑floor pews for close family and pre‑book additional standing areas to ensure comfort for every mourner.

Media peace of mind – A Regency technician uploads tribute videos, tests the webcast link and checks sound levels 45 minutes before the service, preventing any last‑minute glitches.

Personal touches – From locally gathered fen‑reed floral arrangements to horse‑drawn hearses along the tree‑lined driveway, our team liaises with chapel staff to honour every detail.

Aftercare & memorials – Our After a Loss Hub guides families through ashes collection, garden scattering bookings and memorial plaque options.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How far in advance can we book a service at Fenland Crematorium?

The diary opens 12 months ahead, giving plenty of choice for weekday and Saturday slots. For urgent arrangements, we can usually secure a time within 48 hours once statutory forms and the medical referee sign off are complete.

  • Are Saturday services really the same price as weekdays?

Yes—Saturday mornings (up to noon) are offered at the weekday fee when booked through our Regency Saver Plan. Afternoon or Sunday services attract a supplemental charge set by the crematorium.

  • What length of service slot is standard?

A single booking provides a 45 minute window: 30 minutes inside the chapel and 15 minutes for arrival and departure. Families wanting live music or multiple eulogies can double book for a 90 minute celebration of life.

  • Is livestreaming available?

Absolutely. The Obitus system streams in HD and stores the recording for 28 days. Viewers receive a secure URL and password 24 hours before the funeral, and a downloadable MP4 is available on request.

  • Is the chapel suitable for all faiths and none?

Yes. The neutral décor welcomes multi faith, single faith and Humanist ceremonies. Movable religious symbols, lectern and portable candles allow flexible ritual.

  • Can children attend, and are prams allowed?

Pushchairs navigate flat thresholds easily, and a small foyer offers space for a break if needed. We provide colouring packs or memory box activities to help children engage gently with the ceremony.

  • How is parking handled for very large funerals?

The main car park accommodates 100 vehicles. When attendance is expected to exceed this, the overflow meadow opens and marshals guide traffic to maintain a dignified flow.

  • Can ashes be scattered elsewhere if we hold the funeral here?

Yes. Families often choose woodland burials, private garden scatterings or interment in a family grave after a Fenland cremation. We provide certified scatter tubes and can arrange a separate committal service at your chosen location.

  • What memorial options are available in the Garden of Remembrance?

Rose bushes, memorial plaques, metal leaf emblems on remembrance trees and seasonal planting beds offer lasting tributes. A dedicated Memorial Advisor guides families through choices.

  • What ongoing support does Regency offer after the funeral?

Our relationship continues with guidance on paperwork, probate, memorial choices and grief support resources. Monthly coffee mornings at our funeral home provide companionship and shared remembrance.
